Pancho the Dog and His Friends

This is Pancho the dog and I am going to tell you the story of my best physical therapist.

Pancho arrived three years ago, he lived under some cars in the patio of a mechanical workshop. He would have been 3 months old, dirty, full of dirt and fat, his white color turned almost dark gray.

My 18-year-old son was looking for a friend and Pancho found him. He approached and they immediately clicked. My son hugged him and they started playing while I attended to my business. After an hour I called my son that we were leaving. He ran to the car and my surprise was that Pancho the dog was very seated next to him.

With his beautiful eyes he told me I’m ready let’s go home my son hugged him so I talked to the owner of the mechanic shop and it turned out that Pancho the dog had been born in that place his mother died and the owner of the mechanic shop told me that he could do it for me stay. I turned to see Pancho and with his shining eyes he told me I am ready to go to my new home (Now they are mine).

He became my son’s best friend. They look so happy they go for a walk every day but my son decided to work and I started taking care of his dog during the day while he came home. I had a condition that did not allow me to leave my house (I could not walk)

A year later when my doctor finally approved my surgery on both hips, the first operation was in October 2019 in the midst of the great COVID19 pandemic, a month later the second surgery and the rehabilitation began.

After 3 months in bed, if I could move my two legs, I could hardly stand alone in the bathroom and eat my legs and they did not respond. My son and my wife went to work, I was left alone with Pancho the dog who wanted to play and made my legs move.

Paqncho the dog wanted to go out and play and I began to take small walks and he graciously accompanied me without pulling the rope. I spent 1 year very difficult and my recovery very slow. Pancho the dog always took care of me and accompanied me.

Pancho the dog wanted to run and play and I was very slow so I bought a number 5 ball thrower and we played but he wouldn’t return the ball, he sat waiting for me to go get the ball to throw it again.

After 3 more months I bought a #15 ball thrower so the distance was greater and Pancho the dog was unforgiving and sat down waiting for me to pick up the ball. 3 months later I bought the #25 ball thrower my legs were stronger I could sit and stand on the ground by myself and we began to walk very long distances (walks of 2 hours a day)

I am 57 years old but I spent 6 years with hip pain and I did not want the surgery I lost almost 65% of my muscle mass in my legs and arms for the first time I felt the weight of the years and the great effort and work of physical rehabilitation ( It was not easy)

but I am sure that Pancho the dog helped me achieve my goal.

I like to read stories of heroic dogs that save lives, they move me. But I also see the dogs that save silent lives. Those support dogs for youth and adults daily save lives and give hope and happiness to hearts that need it.

Pancho the dog and all the dogs like him who give us joy, hope and get us out of depression THANK YOU for that I call this space Pancho the dog and his friends. Pancho the dog and friends
